CORN EXPORTS FROM BRAZIL TO REACH 4.8 MILLION TONNES IN JULY

06/07/2022

July exports of corn from Brazil were estimated at 4.8 million tonnes on the 4th, an increase of 1.8 million tons compared to the same month in 2021, according to a survey by the maritime agency Cargonave, based on the line-up of shipments.

With the harvest of the second corn crop, which experts believe will yield record results, Brazilian shipments tend to be stronger in the coming months. Last year, the crops suffered from drought and frost, reducing the supply for foreign sales.

On the other hand, the country’s soybean exports should be weaker after the harvest of a smaller crop in the first half of the year compared to 2021. They are estimated at 6.3 million tonnes, up from 7.9 million in July last year, according to the Cargonave.

Soybean meal exports were projected at 1.7 million tons, stable in the annual comparison.
