OTHER CARGO BELARUS WILL ALLOW POTASH EXPORTS FROM APRIL ONWARDS, SAYS AGENCY

05/04/2022

The government of Belarus said today, April 1st, that it will grant licenses for the export of potash from April onwards, according to Reuters, which quoted the RIA agency. The Eastern European country is the world’s third-largest producer of potash, widely used in soy production. Belaruskali, a local state-owned company, is among the world’s leading companies in the field.

According to agencies, the Belarus government will grant export licenses to Belaruskali and Belarus Potash Co (BPC) from the 6th onwards. However, regardless of the measure, the trade sanctions that the United States and the European Union imposed on the country remain valid, hampering Brazilian access to these companies’ input.
