BYD, a Chinese company that operates in the market for vehicles, machinery, and electrical equipment, in addition to clean energy technologies, has strategically gotten closer to the Port of Vitória.

On Tuesday (24), at CODESA’s headquarters, BYD Brazil’s operations manager, João Paulo de Barros, met with president Bruno Fardin and the director of Planning and Development, Raquel Guimarães, to present the company’s projects and address strategic demands.

All of BYD’s logistics for the entry of vehicles, machinery, and electrical equipment into Brazil are concentrated in Espírito Santo and have its gateway at the Port of Vitória.

BYD arrived in Brazil in 2015 when it opened its first 100% electric bus assembly plant in Campinas (SP). In 2017, it opened a second factory, also in Campinas, to produce photovoltaic modules. To supply the electric bus fleet, in 2020, the company started the operation of its third factory in Brazil, in the Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM), dedicated to the production of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. The company is also responsible for two SkyRail (monorail) projects in the country, one in Salvador (Subúrbio VLT) and the city of São Paulo (Line 17 – Gold).
